What can you see on the world longest flight: Stars, Rising sun, and Aurora

Writer's picture: KirkXWBKirkXWB

Fortunately enough that I took the SQ22 flight from Singapore Changi to Newark Liberty this August. It is currently the longest flight in the world. Singapore Airlines also operates between New York JFK airport and Singapore Changi, so there're more chances to explore the longest flight in the world.

I saw gorgeous stars just after taking off, and it seemed there were thunderstorms in the clouds above Malaysian Peninsula.

After taking an 8-hour-sleep, we arrived above Alaska. Sadly the weather was not good, clouds covered Anchorage, so I could not see glaciers. However, the deep blue was charming and rare to be seen on the ground.

Since the plane was heading to the west, day and night were shorter, so we soon flew into the darkness. Then the highlight time of this flight came, we saw auroras when we passed Canada.

After taking a nap, we were about to land. Meanwhile, the sun is on the horizon.

Thanks to the strong west wind, we land about half an hour in advance. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to take the upcoming world's longest flight: Qantas Airways' flight from Sydney to London.
