Earlier this week, when a LATAM A320neo, registration CC-BHB, took off from runway 16 of Lima Airport, it collided with a fire engine that entered the runway without permission. The plane deviated from the runway and caught fire. After stopping, it immediately evacuating at the runway. None of the 102 people on board died, but 36 people were injured, four of whom were seriously injured, and the plane was seriously damaged. Two firefighters on the fire engine died and two others were seriously injured.

According to Flightradar24, the speed of the plane had reached 127 knots (235km/h) at the time of the collision and left the ground in a few seconds. The pilot basically had no time to react before the incident, but the treatment after the incident was still very fast.

When the right wing touches the ground and the friction increases, the pilot turns on the left engine to reverse, stabilizing the direction of the flight to a certain extent. In the end, the plane also stopped on the runway, providing great advantages for subsequent evacuation, fire fighting and rescue.
